Heat stroke occurs when your internal body temperature becomes severely elevated to 104 degrees or above. This condition is extremely common among athletes who play outdoor sports such as football and soccer.  In fact, the NFL is now experimenting with temperature pills after a lineman for the Minnesota Vikings collapsed and died of heatstroke five years ago.
